One of the biggest challenges teachers face, when trying to get involved with TSA, is trying to find the time for you to organize and students to prepare for events. In this presentation, you will learn the main events that run at every state conference, be provided resources for materials purchasing, and view currently practiced methods for how other teachers bring TSA into their classroom. Knowing what events we run at states will give you a better sense of how to start recruiting students to get involved. Additional resources will be provided for how to start your chapter. The 2026-27 school year is the year to join because SUNY Oswego will be hosting our State Conference.
This session is repeated on Thursday Session 5

In a time when students often struggle to connect abstract concepts to real-world meaning, 3D printing offers a powerful way to make learning tangible. This session explores how additive manufacturing can move beyond the Technology classroom to support mathematics, science, health sciences, and forensics instruction. Through cross-curricular project examples and a practical collaboration framework, participants will learn how to implement 3D printing as a shared instructional tool across departments. Attendees will leave with ready-to-use project ideas, standards-aligned applications, and strategies for positioning 3D printing as a catalyst for engagement, spatial reasoning, and interdisciplinary learning.

As a holdover from industrial arts, for technology and engineering education, the scope of how materials are processed is often limited to manufacturing and production techniques. Unfortunately, this limited approach typically ignores a much broader exposure to material categories and the conceptual underpinnings of material processing to enable more global understanding and transfer required for true technological literacy. This session will present alternative elements of organizing and delivery of material processing.
