We can worship God through generosity.
Generosity means sharing all one has (time, talents, and treasures) out of gratitude for God's grace and to give God glory.
We see an example of generosity in the Bible with the story of Ruth. Both Naomi and Ruth were generous in the story: Naomi was generous because she took care of Ruth and Orpah when their husbands died. Ruth was generous because she went to Judah with Naomi to take care of her and be her family.
Read Ruth 1 from the Bible. Talk about how Ruth and Naomi were generous to one another.
Read 1 Chronicles 29:11 together:
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.
The verse tells us that everything belongs to God. What does that mean to you?
Discuss the following statements:
I can be generous because God is so generous to me!
I can be generous because God owns it all!
Pray and ask God for how you can be generous to your family and friends.
