Amtgard awards have been given in the thousands, and hundreds of beautiful artworks have been gifted to our populace, for their hard work, dedication, and achievement. Every player receives an Order, a title, a Masterhood, even a Knighthood, and those gifts are as varied as their recipients.
Every monarchy in every kingdom steps up, and must choose whether to craft their own Orders, or to use whatever Orders they can find, to use as their own. The templates we have are limited, and are older than a large percentage of our active players. They are showing their age.
With these in mind, these are the intent of this contest:
We should remember those gifts, and remember those players.
We should make some new gifts, to award to players yet to come.
Contest will accept entries from February 14th, 2021 to March 14th, 2021.
Judging will be held via google form from March 15th to March 22nd, 2021. Winners will be announced on March 25th, 2021.
If you would like to contribute to the archive after the contest is over, we will open up the forms again to keep this alive beyond the contest.
By entering, you agree to allow us to host these files, as well as create an ongoing searchable archive for other Amtgard parks and groups to use these files as either templates, or as a jumping off point for their own awards, regalia, and gifts. You will always receive all credit for your work (especially if you sign your pieces!)
Our goal with this contest is threefold;
1. Encourage and generate more award templates for groups to use.
2. Create an archive of awards, gifts, and award regalia to help inspire others.
3. We believe that we should encourage others to be lifelong learners. As such we are offering the following prizes:
Winners for each category will receive a Udemy.com course of their choice, (best served to you during one of their periodic up to 80% off sales), not exceeding $50 each. Udemy provides online courses in almost any topic, skill level, or language. Also available on your mobile device, and you have permanent access to that class. Take a class on your favorite subject, or brush up on some skills you need for work, or school, or hobby. There is a very wide selection. If you don't find anything you like on that website, we are happy to substitute another class of your choice up to $50. Let us know.
A submitted set of Orders/Awards must include all Ladder Awards: Rose, Smith, Lion, Owl, Dragon, Garber, Warrior & Crown.
Sets may include awards granted only in certain kingdoms, per kingdom corporas (Ex: Hydra, Tactician, Roach). All awards should show a consistent theme, common element, or otherwise clearly be a 'set', 'collection' or consistent idea.
Example: Forest-themed awards, reign-specific awards, playing card awards, 'Alice in Wonderland' themes, minimalist, chess pieces
Any single ladder award, title or generic award template, or awards granted only in certain kingdoms.
Example: Custom Order of the Rose, Individual Title Templates, A Hellrider-themed award, an award template for Orders in the Burning Lands.
These awards should all be able to be used by any group, so please do not include group identifying heraldry or text.
Attribute Sources! All sources should be original or from copyright-free (creative commons) sources. Examples of where to get creative commons artwork: pexels.com | pixabay.com | unsplash.com | search.creativecommons.org | or google image search using Tools>Usage Rights>Creative Commons licenses. Artwork sources in the public domain are also acceptable.
Please include font choice (and link, if you have it) for others.
You should sign your work! Please include your name and kingdom somewhere in the artwork so you can receive the credit for designing the award when other groups use it.
These awards should all be digital, high resolution, and ready for groups like parks and kingdoms to use.
You have the option, if you would like, of having feedback. That can be in the form of comments, a private zoom call, or if you are up to it, a fb live. We will contact you if you choose this option to work out details.
The winner of these two categories will be determined by a popular vote. A google form will be created and distributed when all entries are made.
This category is a little different.
The winner of this category will be determined by who submits the MOST previously presented awards, regalia, and gifts, across all of Amtgard history. This does not have to be only digital awards.
Submissions will require the consent of the original artist, and/or the recipient of the award.
High-resolution pictures, and original digital images are highly encouraged. Facebook compresses submitted images, and thus may degrade quality.
Types of things we are looking for:
Awarded Knighting Scrolls (Scroll, Belt, Regalia, et al.)
Awarded Masterhoods (Documentation/Certificate, Garb, Hoods, Favors, etc)
Awarded Paragons (Sashes, apprentice favors, Pre V8 Masterhoods)
Awarded Titles (Documentation/Certificate, Garb, Accessories, Circlets, etc)
Any previously awarded individualized honors, prizes, or trophies (Non-standard awards, Orders of the custom ‘X’, custom titles that are equivalent to standardized titles)
To enter, there are two steps.
Enter on our google form. And upload your entries in the space provided on the form. Unfortunately, we can only upload 10 files at a time. If you have more than 10 entries, submit more times. The form will allow for more than just pictures and pdfs to be uploaded, we want to see how creative you can get. Video awards? 3D .stl award files? Lets see them.
Join our facebook group, and make your post, including all your award images. In your post, include the following:
Persona Name, Kingdom, Park
Dragon and Rose award levels (so we can use this to reccomend awards to your home kingdom/park) And if you have been given an award for this.
Any info they want to let us know, including links to where these files can be found (encourage cloud sharing, cause pdfs are great for printing, but not great for sharing on fb)
