California is really unique. Its roads are famous, most of these freeways were around before the conventional numbering system we have today, resulting in strange names that most freeways in the country don't get. Calling I-79 in PA "Raymond P. Shaffer Highway" isn't something that you'd normally do, but calling I-5 "Golden State Freeway" is completely normal. That being said, I've put all the names for the freeways in addition to their numbers because Angelenos still use them today. Or they say things like "the 5" or "the 405" because they switched over to the numbers when they first came around so we got this weird mix of the old names and the numbers. Having lived and been raised for the important phases of my childhood in LA I still find myself referring to the freeways with "the" and then the number. Only when talking about LA, of course.
I haven't visited all the roads below. Instead I've put all the ones I plan to visit as a way of sort of holding myself to visit them one day.
Note: California 134 (Ventura Fwy) has too many photos to put in a single page. Clicking that link will redirect you to a whole other website instead.
Right now the 405 and 134 freeways are the only one that I have up for California. I made them big and obvious so you go to click them instead of anything else that might be here because you wont find anything else.
