A Little Revolver Fun

August 18, 2018

Today I was able to get to the range and enjoy shooting only one revolver, My Uberti "Buckhorn" 44 Magnum frame single action army with a 44-40 cylinder.

I loaded up a variety of lead bullets, Lyman's 427098, 42499 Hollow Points, Accurate's 43-215C and my design...Accurate's 43-208A and some 200gr Biglube bullets by Whyte's Leather Works.

I used several powders as well...Unique, Reloder 7, IMR4227 and some good ole Trailboss. I only shot targets from 4 yards...nothing special but it was very enjoyable. I did shoot some videos of each shot but did fail to get video of the Sierra 210gr groups. Since I did fail to get the last video. This also happens to be my 193rd documented target...here is a photo of that target.

44-40, Sierra 210gr JSHP, 26.5gr Reloder 7. Pressure may be too high for weak action rifles and small frame SAA's. 7/8" Group @ 4 yards.

I did make one 25 yard shot that is not easy to see on the video, here is that target below...

8gr of Unique with the 43-208A did well with my poor shooting skills and lack of eye sight (thats my excuse). 4" groups (no rest) at 25 yards with a revolver and 4" groups at 100 yards with a rifle.....I'll take it all day long!!

Rather than post each individual link to the nine videos, here is the link to the play list. "Range Day 8-18-2018"
