The goal of 4-H clubs is to train youth leadership to direct the work of the clubs with an adult assisting in the background. This is an excellent opportunity for 4-H members to gain leadership experience. The following positions are available for children to provide volunteer service and gain leadership skills.
President:
Checks on arrangements for each meeting
Conducts business session of club meetings
Appoints committees when necessary
Keeps in close touch with local leader
Is interested in the welfare of each member
Vice-President
Performs duties of president when assigned
Assists and encourages members
Secretary-Treasurer
Keeps minutes of club meetings
Keeps the membership roll
Keeps an accurate record of all club funds

Reporter
Writes news reports of club meetings and activities for local papers
Assists with other methods of publicizing club activities
Song Leader
Learns 4-H songs, fun songs, folk songs
Leads singing at club meetings
Teaches new songs to club members
Community Service Chairman
Helps organize service projects during the year
Organizes members to help carry out the project
