Meet the Teacher
Mrs. Motta welcomes you!
For 2nd grade students
Dear 2nd grade friends,
This is my first year teaching 2nd grade. I was the third grade teacher the last four years, and I am so excited to be in 2nd grade now! I think you will love it too! I wanted to be a teacher for many years. I had a different job, but I went back to school to get a teaching degree so I could be a teacher. Always trust Jesus' plan for your life, and follow your dreams!
My husband, Mr. Motta, and I have two boys. Nolan graduated 8th grade last year, and you might know Kieran who is in 6th grade. We also have a dog named Molly.
I love playing games, reading books, and taking walks. I love coffee drinks and chocolate!
I am so excited we are spending this year together and can't wait to get to know more about YOU!
God bless you!
Mrs. Motta
For 2nd grade families
Dear parents and guardians,
Thank you for entrusting your children to me, and to St. Patrick School. I love this school and our school families!
My husband Danny and I have been parishioners at St. Patrick for over 10 years. Our son Nolan graduated from St. Patrick last year and is going into high school at LEAD Innovation Studio. Our son Kieran will be in 6th grade here at St. Patrick. I have a Bachelor's degree from Truman State University and a Master's in Elementary Education from the University of Saint Mary. This is my sixth year teaching full-time. I worked in another profession for several years before becoming a teacher. I feel this is my calling, and I am dedicated to doing the best I can for each student in my care.
The best part about teaching is that the students in my class become like family. We spend more time together than I do with most of my relatives or friends! Each unique person who makes up our class family has God-given strengths, and also struggles with different challenges. I will come to know the special characteristics of each child, and we will quickly fall into our routine of respecting and learning from one another. I care for and love my entire class like my family. This is one of the reasons my husband and I chose St. Patrick School for our own children's education. The people in this building demonstrate love and care for our children as they have moved from the Early Childhood Center and through their educational journey here.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me. I look forward to working with your children and with you to make this a very successful 2nd grade year!
Your partner in education,
Danielle Motta
