'O Professore: A Film Review

    Plot Summary

    Pietro Filodomini (Castellitto) is a passionate and idealistic teacher of Italian literature at the Maiello school, a special institution that aims to prevent school dropout and social exclusion in the heart of Naples. He works with a team of female teachers who share his vision and commitment. Together, they try to reach out to 36 teenagers who have been abandoned by their families and institutions, and who are exposed to the dangers of prostitution, crime, and mafia recruitment. Pietro personally visits the homes of his students, persuading them to attend school and offering them guidance and support.
