TO CLEAR ONES MIND OF WORLDLY PURSUITS.

Born as a tiger in the Heavenly Realm, he was taken in by a lesser god. Raised and taught in the art of cultivation and then the sword once he was able to take on a mortal form, he quickly grew in strength. Word of his existence and that he was bound to no god or goddess soon had many coming to try and claim him as their mount. A position that many of his kind would see as an honor and yet he only saw as chains. For he had no desire to be claimed by anyone. Instead, his only wish was to become a great swordsman and to avenge the death of his teacher and friend. 

For it was soon after he'd taken a mortal form that a demon had attacked their small mountain. Killing his teacher and Kuina before moving on to find new prey. 

Thus, now fully grown and a force to be reckoned with, he travels the realms in hunt of the demon. Helping those along the way in return for food and shelter while occasionally fending off those who wish to tame him. Claiming that if he is ever to be bound to another as their spiritual beast then they must be worthy of his power and respect his dreams. Unknowing that he has gained a name for himself during the century he's spent hunting down his chosen family's killer. The Three-Bladded Demon Hunter, Roronoa Zoro.
