AND I THOUGHT YOKAI WERE WEIRD.

Orphaned at a young age Zoro was saved from the wilderness and powerful Yokai that hunted in the remaining forests of Japan by his Sensei. The mortal man, uncaring that the child he'd found injured while training in the mountains wasn't human, brought him home to live at his Dojo. Raising Zoro as his own son alongside his daughter Kunia. The two of them becoming fierce rivals in their younger years, constantly bickering and fighting until one day Zoro challenges her to a duel with real blades. It was then, after his defeat and learning of her insecurities that they swore one day they would become world-class Champions in Kendo. Shortly after this promise was made however Kuina died. 

Alone once more and unable to connect with others his age Zoro withdrew. Becoming solely focused on his training and working diligently to become a well-known name in Kendo. It was due to this dedication that he ended up meeting the Soma's. It was after becoming a member of Kazuma Soma's Dojo in order to learn other techniques that could help him perfect his Three-Sword Style, all the while keeping the secret of what he was from the world, that was until he quite literally ran into Kisa Soma when she was visiting. 

Unsure of what to do for the young girl when she transformed into a baby tiger and seeing her panic at the fact that he'd learned her secret he transformed as well. Shifting into a smaller version of his massive Kitsune form, three tails swishing behind him as he grinned at her in an attempt to stop the tears. After that.....he began running into more and more of the cursed family. Akito allowing him to maintain his memories since as a Yokai, Hatori's abilities where rendered useless on him.
