Steps to Update the Firmware
Download the latest firmware file from the Encore website. The file name should be ENHWI-N3_FW_v1.0.0.6.zip or similar.
Unzip the file and save it to a location on your computer. You should see a file named ENHWI-N3_FW_v1.0.0.6.bin or similar.
Connect your computer to the router using an Ethernet cable. Make sure your computer is not connected to any other network or VPN.
Open a web browser and type http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar. This is the default IP address of the router. Enter admin as the username and password as the password when prompted. This is the default login information of the router.
Click on System Tools on the left menu and then click on Firmware Upgrade.
Click on Browse and select the firmware file that you downloaded in step 2. Click on Upgrade to start the firmware update process.
Wait for the process to complete. Do not turn off or disconnect the router or your computer during this time. The router will reboot automatically when the update is done.
After the reboot, log in to the router again using the same IP address and login information as before. Check the firmware version on the Status page to verify that the update was successful.
Troubleshooting Tips
If you cannot access the router's web interface, try resetting the router by pressing and holding the reset button on the back of the router for 10 seconds. This will restore the router to its factory default settings. You will need to reconfigure your router settings after this.
If you encounter any problems during or after the firmware update, contact Encore customer support for assistance. You can also check their FAQ page for more information and solutions.
