Pink Movie Review

  

  Pink is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language legal thriller film directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and written by Shoojit Sircar, Ritesh Shah and Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang, Vijay Varma, Angad Bedi, Tushar Pandey, Piyush Mishra, and Dhritiman Chatterjee in pivotal roles. The film deals with the issue of consent and the patriarchal mindset of society towards women. The film received critical acclaim and won several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues.

  The film revolves around three independent working women - Minal (Taapsee Pannu), Falak (Kirti Kulhari), and Andrea (Andrea Tariang) - who live together in a rented apartment in Delhi. One night, they go out for dinner with three men - Rajveer (Angad Bedi), Vishwa (Vijay Varma), and Dumpy (Raashul Tandon) - who are friends of Rajveer's cousin Ankit (Tushar Pandey). Rajveer tries to force himself on Minal in a resort room, but she resists and hits him with a bottle on his head, causing him to bleed profusely. The women flee from the scene and try to forget the incident. However, Rajveer, who is the nephew of a powerful politician Ranjit (Dhritiman Chatterjee), does not let go of his ego and decides to take revenge on the women. He uses his influence to harass them with threats, blackmails, and false accusations of prostitution and attempted murder. The women are unable to get any help from the police or the legal system, as they are biased against them. They are also shamed and judged by their families, friends, and society for their lifestyle choices.
