Less than two hundred years ago, a horse-drawn wagon of freight took six months or more to travel from coast to coast. Today, that same trip can be made in as little as three to six days by a big truck hauling as much freight as thirty of those horse-drawn wagons.

To move goods across the country, truck drivers use various specialized equipment to haul everything from toilet paper to gasoline and everything in between. Among the types of equipment commonly used that make overland shipping possible are the following:

As you can see, if the trucking industry were to cease operating today, the country would descend into chaos. Thankfully, such a scenario is unlikely because of the 3.6 million dedicated men and women working as truck drivers and the other 4 million individuals who work behind the scenes supporting our truck drivers and their efforts to keep the country moving.

Join a growing field where there is a demand for truck drivers in local and long distance employment. Learn from instructors who are state-certified examiners and become fully prepared to successfully complete the CDL Road Test. You will be on your way to a rewarding career!

Professional truck drivers are responsible for the safe, efficient delivery of goods between locations. Spend time behind the wheel learning how to maneuver trucks in a variety of real-world scenarios. You will develop backing and driving skills through classroom, lab, range and roadway experiences. Non-technical skills such as communications will also be discussed. With successful completion of this program, you will have the ability to obtain your Commercial Driver's License. Opportunities to earn additional CDL endorsements will also be available.

There is a current high demand for entry level truck drivers in local and long distance employment. After your 10 week program you will find yourself behind the wheel in a satisfying career. Entry level salaries are generally in excess of $40,000 per year with potential to earn more than $60,000 per year with experience. Most employers also offer health, vacation and retirement benefits.

Through classroom and behind the wheel instruction, you will experience realistic situations that you can expect to encounter behind the wheel of a truck. Experience rural, small town and urban driving settings that will better prepare you for working in the trucking industry.

Applicants with a distressed driving record that include multiple moving violations, DUI, or have felony convictions within the last five years are encouraged to counsel with the program director. Students with these types of offenses may incur difficulty gaining employment as a commercial driver. Your confidentiality will be valued.

Get hands-on training in the driving techniques needed to hold a CDL. Prepare for the licensing exam in eight weeks or less. Learn in the classroom and behind the wheel of a semi on rural and urban streets, highways and interstates. With these skills, you can navigate a route across town or across the U.S., and earn a great living.

The course will begin with learning essential driving skills, regulations, safety, and basic mechanical systems. You'll move into the truck for realistic exercises on a closed course, and as you gain confidence, you'll drive on low-traffic roadways and city streets with tractor-trailer combinations. You will advance to road driving, combining your classroom instruction with driving skills, refining your knowledge, and practice on controlled courses designed to help increase your confidence on the open road.

During the last week of training, you will fine-tune your driving, routing, and paperwork skills, learn advanced shifting techniques, as well as how to handle your rig under differing road conditions. You will be able to complete runs on congested city throughways, handle common roadside mechanical repairs, and shift like the professional you have grown to be.

We will be with you every step of the way! You will find that the difference in truck driving schools is the level of care and individual instruction each student receives. We sincerely want you to be equipped to reach your full potential and have a successful, well-paid career in truck driving!
