Vehicles with partial automation need to have safeguards in place to help drivers stay focused on the road. IIHS is developing a ratings program to evaluate attention reminders and other measures.

The need for driver monitoring and attention reminders has become apparent to many safety advocates. Consumer Reports has announced it will begin awarding points for partially automated driving systems, but only if they have adequate driver monitoring systems, and will factor in IIHS safeguard ratings once they are available.

The new IIHS ratings aim to encourage safeguards that can help reduce intentional and unintentional misuse. They do not address other functional aspects of the systems that could also potentially contribute to crashes, such as how well their cameras or radar sensors identify obstacles.

Safeguard holds prevent a device with a known issue from being offered a new feature update. We use safeguard holds to make sure you have a positive experience as your device moves to a new version of Windows.

The lifespan of safeguard holds varies, and once the originating issue is resolved, the safeguard holds are lifted. You can see documented known issues affecting impacting supported versions of Windows on the Windows release health hub, where you can also learn more about Windows 11 availability and rollout.

c. Design and implement safeguards to control the risks identified through your risk assessment. Among other things, in designing your information security program, the Safeguards Rule requires your company to:

d. Regularly monitor and test the effectiveness of your safeguards. Test your procedures for detecting actual and attempted attacks. For information systems, testing can be accomplished through continuous monitoring of your system. If you don't implement that, you must conduct annual penetration testing, as well as vulnerability assessments, including system-wide scans every six months designed to test for publicly-known security vulnerabilities. In addition, test whenever there are material changes to your operations or business arrangements and whenever there are circumstances you know or have reason to know may have a material impact on your information security program.

Encryption means the transformation of data into a form that results in a low probability of assigning meaning without the use of a protective process or key, consistent with current cryptographic standards and accompanied by appropriate safeguards for cryptographic key material.

Information security program means the administrative, technical, or physical safeguards you use to access, collect, distribute, process, protect, store, use, transmit, dispose of, or otherwise handle customer information.

The relief will include a tariff of 30 percent in the first year, 25 percent in the second year, 20 percent in the third year, and 15 percent in the fourth year. Additionally, the first 2.5 gigawatts of imported solar cells will be exempt from the safeguard tariff in each of those four years.

Examples of these requirements include conducting an environmental and social impact assessment, consulting with affected communities about potential project impacts, and restoring the livelihoods of displaced people. World Bank safeguards are widely regarded as an effective way to ensure that environmental and social concerns and community voices are represented in the design and implementation of our projects.

Consultations with a wide range of stakeholders were conducted to seek input on the approach the new safeguards should take based on the Approach Paper. Consultations were held online and face-to-face from October 2012 to March 2014, reaching more than 2,000 stakeholders from over 40 countries from all regions across the world, including submissions of papers from a wide range of organizations and groups. Meetings included expert focus groups on emerging areas and dialogue with Indigenous Peoples. The summary of all feedback received is available: Feedback Summary, Phase 1.

This is a summary of key elements of the Security Rule including who is covered, what information is protected, and what safeguards must be in place to ensure appropriate protection of electronic protected health information. Because it is an overview of the Security Rule, it does not address every detail of each provision.

ID-REDACT is a data redaction product that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to remove personally identifiable information (PII) and other sensitive data from large datasets. It is provided by Data Safeguard (Datasafeguard.ai).

The Expert Advisory Group on the Global Code of Practice on the International Recruitment of Health Personnel (the Code) recommended that countries with the most pressing health workforce needs related to universal health coverage should be identified, and support and safeguards targeted at them. The Expert Advisory Group further called on leading destination countries and development partners, as well as others interested in providing health workforce related support and safeguards, to commit multi-year flexible funds towards implementation of the Code as a global public good.

The fourth progress report on the WHO Global Code of Practice on the International Recruitment of Health Personnel: fourth round of national reporting, contained in document WHA75/14 noted that the negative health, economic and social impact of COVID-19, coupled with the increasing demand for health and care workers in high-income countries, might be increasing vulnerabilities within countries already suffering from low health workforce densities. Accordingly, the Expert Advisory Group was re-convened to review all countries with low workforce density to consider how disruptions related to COVID-19, particularly health-related vulnerabilities, might require the revision and extension of safeguards against active international recruitment.

The WHO health workforce support and safeguards list 2023 comprises 55 countries. These countries face the most pressing health workforce challenges related to universal health coverage. In particular, these countries have: 1) a density of doctors, nurses and midwives below the global median (i.e., 49 per 10 000 population); and 2) a universal health coverage service coverage index below a certain threshold.

The implementing regulation updates the list of developing countries subject to or excluded from the safeguard measure, based on the latest import data from the year 2022. This is an automatic update required under WTO rules.

In 1999, after a concerted effort by a core group of residents and a generous donation from an area resident, the Town of Silver City (Town) purchased a portion of Boston Hill, marking its first open space acquisition. Since then the Town has developed 10 miles of hiking and biking trails in the area, safeguarded several openings, and used the site to promote public education on the history of mining in the Silver City area.

Even in the conduct of fundamental research, an export control license may be required if the project involves: an NDA covering the exchange of export-controlled information, access to export-controlled technology, a non-research function (e.g., a service agreement) where there is access to export-controlled technology, or access to ITAR-controlled equipment. Identifying and safeguarding controlled technology are critical elements of export control compliance. 17dc91bb1f
