This guide has been prepared by QNS Collaborative, a volunteer-run arts advocacy organization that centers the needs of makers, artists, and other creative groups throughout Queens, NY. From Fall 2021 to Spring 2022 we ran a limited engagement retail store in Astoria featuring work from 60+ local creators. In 2022 and 2023 we focused our efforts on engaging with more artists by hosting monthly maker markets in cooperation with the 31st Ave Open Street and Astoria Food Pantry. Currently we are planning for our expansion and providing more access to creative tools with our Secondhand Art Supply Closet hosted twice monthly at Astoria Food Pantry. We recently hosted a series of Town Halls with some updates about our plans for this year - you can check out the slides here. If you want to connect with us and learn more about our work, give us a follow on Instagram, or email us at qnscollab@gmail.com.
The information below is intended only as a GUIDE and is informed by QNS Collaborative's own experience hosting—and individual participation in—markets on the 31st Ave Open Street.
