Twenty-Four Tutoring is a coalition of high school seniors, committed to helping other students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The outbreak of the disease forced schools worldwide to use online distance learning, a difficult transition for students who rely on interaction with teachers to answer questions and alleviate confusion. Our efforts began with a simple idea: to help those who are struggling via free tutoring sessions. In just two weeks, we grew to over 75 tutors from eight different time zones, all members of the Duke University Class of 2024* who are volunteering their time. As a group, we hope to help students of all ages and from all walks of life as we conquer this crisis together.
"What an incredible service and contribution during this historic moment. It’s hard to help my son with school while I’m working full-time, and I can’t thank these brilliant students enough for volunteering their time. Julia was extremely patient, creative, engaging and kind. My son said the hour felt like five minutes - Julia made fractions fun! That is rare! "

"I truly admire how much extra effort Sabrina put into researching the program I'm applying to so she could get an idea of what they were looking for in terms of essays. It is clear that she is a great tutor because she is prompt, knowledgeable in her field, passionate in helping others, and very pleasant to work with! I highly recommend 24 Tutoring!"

"Harmony was the kindest and most helpful tutor I could ever ask for. She was flexible with her meeting times and always willing to help despite her busy schedule. Thanks for 24 Tutoring for saving my history average!"

"Josh was extremely helpful in slowly and carefully explaining concepts to me. He also took the time to send me pictures of his work when he wasn’t able to fit in explanations during the video call. Josh was also very patient during the time I took to solve problems, and he also checked my work each time."

"Nhu approached [essay] editing in a very fun but serious way. She really helped me look at my writing in a good different way."
