How to use BOOSTERS correctly...

Here is a simple tutorial on boosting a hard Chinese rubber!

The rubber that I used was DHS Hurricane 3 Neo (2.1 40) and the booster used was Haifu Seamoon (yellow version).

1. Apply a few layers (2-3 layers) of glue. Let the glue layers dry.

2. Remove the protective plastic sheet of the rubber.

3. Apply ONE layer of booster. (For me, one layer of booster = a brush soaked with booster)

4. Put the rubber in a dry and cool place for 1 day. The rubber will start the curl upwards.

5. Repeat step 3 and 4. Usually 3 layers of booster is enough.

6. Try to glue the rubber when it is not curled up so much. Apply glue to both of your blade and rubber.

7. Stick them together, and make sure that your rubber is completely flat on your blade.

How to prevent blades from SPLINTERING?

Some people think that the wood protector will change the touch and feeling of the blade. So are there other good alternatives to help us protect the blade? Here is the answer!

Yes! The other method to prevent splinter is to use speed glue. For those who use speed glue, you may think speed glue can only be used to “boost” your rubber. But in fact, apply ONE to TWO layers of speed glue on the BLADE ONLY, can help to prevent splintering. The objective of applying speed glue to the blade itself is not to make use of its gluing effect, so we don’t need to put too much layers of speed glue onto it. The speed glue I am using is the Haifu Dolphin 2016.

Here are the steps in gluing a rubber:

1. Apply ONE to Two layers of speed glue on the blade and let it dry.

2. Apply water-based glue on the rubber and on the blade again and let them dry.

3. Stick the rubber onto the blade.

Precaution:

Speed glue contains volatile organic carbon compounds, so make sure to keep your windows open to maintain good air ventilation.
