Hello Venturers

You are an independent group who organizes, plans and carries out your own activities (in accordance with the bylaws of Scouts Canada and with the assistance of a leader who is a Venturer Advisor).

The group is run just like a company and elects a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Quartermaster and Camp Coordinator each year to help manage their activities.  The group is responsible for keeping records of meetings and events and communicating with each other.  Use the Venturer guide and handbooks which can be accessed on the PROGRAM - DOCUMENTS page.

The Scouts-Tracker on-line program will also help you keep organized and is a great record keeping tool.

Check out the badges you can earn on the PROGRAMS - DOCUMENTS page.  You can also earn the Top Section Award in your section (Queen's Venturer Award - check with your section Advisors for details on this award).

Venturers plan many great camps, expeditions, hikes as well as participate in a number of organized social camps throughout the year.   You get to meet Venturers from other companies and have the opportunity to make new friends. 

When going on an outing (other than a short hike), the company needs to submit an "Outdoor Activity Application" for the event (which includes the event details and a safety plan).  When going on the outing, a "Parent Consent Form" must be handed in at the start of the outing (this form can be downloaded from the PROGRAM - DOCUMENTS page).

As with all levels of Scouts, after each camp you are responsible for cleaning, and drying out camp equipment that is assigned to you (everyone shares in these duties). The expectation at this level of Scouting is that the Venturers take very good care of their equipment (much of this equipment is specific to your section and not shared with the other sections).

You can also earn "Service Hours" which can be used for your school service hour requirements (see your section Advisors for more information).
