Scout INFO

Refer to the OUR PROGRAMS and the MEMBERS pages for general information on the "Scouts" Section.

Some important points to remember:

• Scouts will need to be in full uniform when arriving at their meetings.  

• Please bring your Scout into the gym at the start of the meeting (do not drop them off in the parking lot).

• When picking up youth, if parents/guardians could wait outside the gym until the meeting has ended this will minimize youth distraction.

Scouts participate in many camps throughout the year where they learn many new skills.  They also develop higher levels of independence and responsibility.  In this regard, it would be helpful to our program if parents/guardians could encourage their Scout(s) to do the following on their own: 

1. make sure they have fully planned their meals with their patrols for each camp, 

2. pack their own backpacks, 

3. For category 3 activities, bring you a "Parent/Guardian Consent Form" for you to sign for camps/special events (see DOCUMENTS page) and then have the signed document scanned or take a photo of it and email it to scouts21capilano@gmail.com

4. bring their camp fees with them (or fees can be paid on-line - click on MEMBERS-PAYMENTS).  Note that all Scout camp fees are a flat rate of $25 except for Jamborees and major expeditions,

5.  and remember to wear their uniforms to meetings and outings.

After camps, each Scout is also responsible to clean and dry out camping equipment that is assigned to them (everyone shares in these duties).  Note that it is very important to dry out and air tenting equipment right after a camp so that it does not start to mildew - mildew in tents can start to grow within 48 hours if not dried out.
