Alumni Conference

At the end of May 2025, the WWU philosophy department hosted a weekend conference in celebration of all alumni of the department, and the event was a huge success! (A few photos appear below, and the whole album is here.)

It included one full day of philosophy talks -- where the four presenters, four commentators, and four chairs were all alumni who are now either professors of philosophy or graduate students who have pursued advanced degrees in philosophy -- as well as a panel with four alumni who spoke about how their philosophical education at Western has informed their careers outside of philosophy. Plus there were a lot of other alumni in attendance, as well.

Thanks so much to everyone who came out for the event, including our current students whose enthusiasm and involvement inspired some alumni to create a brand new departmental scholarship. And thanks to those involved in the planning process, especially our department manager, Sùsanna.
