Workshop on Data Science and Survey Design ｜Overview

  DSSD2025 aims to help participants understand and master various techniques for data collection and analysis, thereby enhancing both the breadth and depth of their research. Whether in the social sciences, biomedical studies, natural sciences, or business research, the effective use of data is key to advancing academic research and practical innovation.

  DSSD2025 brings together experts, scholars and graduate students from diverse fields to share their practical experiences and innovative achievements in data processing, analytical methods, and survey design.

Core Objectives：

• 1.  Introduction to Diverse Data Analysis Methods

  Covers the research applications and practical case studies of statistical modeling, machine learning, Bayesian inference, and multivariate analysis, demonstrating the diverse applications of data analysis methods across different disciplines and research fields.

• 2.  Survey Design and Data Collection Strategies

  Through concrete case studies, the workshop demonstrates how survey design contributes to practical data collection and analysis in different research contexts, such as 

• A study on the physical conditions and sleep quality of the elderly in Kinmen,  illustrating applications in health and biomedical sciences.

• A consumer behavior and purchasing power survey in the Feng Chia commercial district, illustrating practical survey operations and data analysis in business and marketing research.

• 3.  Techniques for Sensitive Data Collection and Analysis

  Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of techniques such as the Randomized Response Technique (RRT), which enables researchers to ensure effective data collection and analysis when addressing sensitive .

• 4.  Cross-Disciplinary Practice and Exchange

  Through keynote presentations delivered by 11 invited speakers, the workshop showcases the practical applications and challenges of data science across different fields, inspiring research innovation and opportunities for collaboration.
