In October 2022, the Gravity Research et Application Team (GReAT) of the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences (NIMS) established the Yemi MicroGravity Observatory (YeMiGO) to measure the Earth's microgravity for geohazard research, which is located at 1,005 meters below Earth surface. The YeMiGO is established inside the underground laboratory facility of the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) located in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon Province, Korea. As the first gravity sensor, YeMiGo is equipped with a superconducting gravimeter (iGrav® serial #001). With this, GReAT is conducting the micro-Gravity Investigator in Canada-Korea (μGICK) project. At this point in the first year of operation, this workshop aims to introduce the status and facilities of the microgravity project, and scientists invited from East-Asian countries including Korea, Taiwan, and Japan will discuss various applications in related fields. A site tour is available during the workshop to explore the underground lab and the gravity laboratory.

Dress Code: Long sleeves and long pants are required.
Shoes: Safety shoes or hiking shoes with a thick sole are required.
A safety helmet and other equipment will be provided on-site.
Due to the limited capacity of the cage lift entering the underground lab, a maximum of 5 people (including one guide) can board at a time.
