A player must join a team in the league to be qualified to play the individual doubles tournament.
Four-Line Gold Doubles Team League
There are four doubles positions, each at a different combined UTR level to form the doubles pair:
Doubles line 1: Combined pair UTR<=17.0
Doubles line 2: Combined pair UTR<=15.0
Doubles line 3: Combined pair UTR<=13.0
Doubles line 4: Combined pair UTR<=11.0
Four lines must be placed in order: UTR of D1>D2>D3>D4. At least three (3) female players are required in the lineup.
At-level player requirement: At least six (6) at-level players are required in a team to play in Gold League. At-level players is a male player with UTR>=7.0 or a female player with UTR>=5.0.
Four-Line Silver Doubles Team League
There are four doubles positions, each at a different combined UTR level to form the doubles pair:
Doubles line 1: Combined pair UTR<=12.5
Doubles line 2: Combined pair UTR<=10.5
Doubles line 3: Combined pair UTR<=9.5
Doubles line 4: Combined pair UTR<=8.0
Four lines must be placed in order: UTR of D1>D2>D3>D4. At least three (3) female players are required in the lineup.
Team wins 3 or more lines wins team point;
If tied 2-2, the tie shall be broken by the first of the following methods to do so:
Sets: Loser of the fewest number of sets.
Games: Loser of the fewest number of games.
Game Winning Percentage: Total games won divided by total games played
Winner of No. 1 Doubles
Team standing is decided by
Number of team wins
Number of individual doubles wins
Number of individual doubles set loss
Number of individual doubles game loss
Team Head to Head
Top four league teams will be awarded trophies and prizes.
Player UTR
Player's Verified Doubles UTR will be used if he/she has one.
Three weeks' UTR moving average will be used for each round of league match.
If a player doesn't have a verified UTR (at projected or unrated stage), his/her UTR will be decided by:
For player with USTA computer rating, his/her UTR is converted based on his/her C-Rating. Once his/her UTR becomes verified, he/she needs to switch to verified UTR.
For player with self rating, his/her UTR is converted based on his/her S-Rating. Once his/her UTR becomes verified, he/she needs to switch to verified UTR. Other captains can file a UTR/NTRP grievance if his/her self rating is not propriate. Grievance committee make decision based on projected UTR, UTR reliability, singles UTR and past UTR history.
Important: Players with verified UTR must play at least one (1) match to be qualified to play in playoff. Players without verified UTR must play at least two (2) matches to be qualified to play in playoff. Self Rated Players must play at least three (3) matches to be qualified to play in playoff.

Team Registration
Send email to contact@BayAreaTennis.net before May 15, to include Captain and Co-Captain’s names, team name and which league the team would like to participate in, home court name and location. If your team don't have a home court, you may use Sunnyvale Tennis Center as your home court. Supported by SMTC, teams in HeCares Cup are eligible to request home matches there for the season.
