CU Boulder

Boulder, CO

Join us in beautiful Colorado! We're excited to host this two-day workshop on March 8-9 in partnership between Front Range Community College (Boulder County Campus) and University of Colorado Boulder.

Who should attend? You! Plus some of your colleagues. Whether you're new to the Learning Assistant (LA) model or have years of experience working with LAs in your classroom, you'll learn something to help you implement next steps.

LEARN, CONNECT, DO.....for the success of all our students!

Workshop Organizers: Christy Gomez (FRCC-BCC) and Laurie Langdon (CU Boulder)

LAgents: Laurel Hartley (CU Denver), Bud Talbot (CU Denver), Anthony Escuadro (Harold Washington College, City Colleges of Chicago), Susan Hendrickson (CU Boulder)

Additional workshop facilitators and faculty panelists:

FRCC-BCC: Ken Monks, Mary Siems

FRCC - LC: Eric Salahub, Kerri Mitchell

CU Boulder: Jennifer Avena, Betsy McIntosh, Athena Sparks, Daniel Bolton

Registration is open through Monday, March 4, or until the workshop fills up. We recommend that institutions send teams that include faculty who use (or might use) LAs in their courses, program directors, pedagogy course instructors, administrators, and others who want to learn more about the LA model or how to improve their existing LA program.

The workshop agenda is available here.

The two-day workshop is designed so you engage with others from your own "institutional team" as well as connect with participants from other institutions. Contact Christy or Laurie if you have questions about the schedule.

  • Sessions are designed to engage participants.
  • You'll have time to think and reflect as well as share your ideas with others.
  • We schedule specific blocks of time for you to be able to plan next steps so that you can take what you are learning and have something ready to implement when you leave the workshop.
