There were also some rubbish dumped on the side of the Kinglake Estate. It showed some correspondence with an address from a near-by flat so maybe it could be possible to ask the Community Wardens to send a letter or something
This is a crucial time for the Wild Life Area maintenance.
The vegetation start springing-up, literally, and in few days not only most of the detritus will be covered but also tramping around it would cause some damage to the area.
Lots of birds activity. Especially wrens and their songs filled the place. Few other birds nests in the wild hedge too.
And with all this going on there was also some finishing dismantling of the previous year youngsters den building activities to be done. A part from the breaking up of branches from the bushes and the piling up of logs, there was also some camp fire being started and this was not really acceptable . Fortunately the phenomenal is not a recurrent one. Last year was the only one with some significant recurrence and did not last very long. In any case some trimming of the buses (that needed to be done in any case) might help and like wise on the Kinglake side there was a protrusion of into the parking area that nedded addressing.
Fortunately a team of specialists (Coro and Tenzin were great) was at hand.
While with the arrival of the Daniel we could reach into those problematic spaces in the undergrowth, where rubbish is most difficult to gather.
At the end all turned out to be Ok and we even cleaned some difficult rubbish on the other side of the ballcourt under some snowberry shrubs (Symphoricarpos albus) that have become the summer residence of a colony of house sparrows (passer domesticus).
At the end the Wild Life Area look ready to start its vernal change-over.
We all felt better for the little help we have given.
