This was another cleaning up of the Wild Life area were I found myself alone or at least I thought when I started.
I was called in by Elizabeth that reported someone started a fire on the site, and the fire brigade apparently called. It actually turnout to be a false alarm.
Yes, there have been some sort of fire but minuscule, on top of the pallet structure probably from some small kids.
Not an organised attempt more an extempore one.
None the less there was a good opportunity for some clean up as the rubbish seem to accumulate in the area by magical means...
All together it is not that bad and in spite of the recent works, and disturbances in the place, especially the covering up of the waddle hedge and the replacing of the whole of the east fence during the work for the ongoing renewal of the playground there (from a Cleaner Greener Safer grant wan by the Kinglake Tenants & Residents Association).
The work has generate some damage but like the previous work that has done the same think for the west fence abutting the kick-about field (again from a previous CGS grant again from the Kinglake T&RA) it turned out to be extensive but controlled. In this circumstances the vegetation quickly recovers. Still I wish that some part of the wattle hedge that is still uncovered by soil wouldn't be so vulnerable to the risk of fire.
So it was a relative quick visit but I wasn't as lonely as I though; out of nowhere two of the local children Leoni and David (I think is his name) brother and sister, came in to help a little bit.
