After the work on the playground next to the area we were concerned we could find a lot of building materials and stuff but all together the rubbish was the usual fare of thousands of people doing a mostly OK but occasionally straying and littering. Few people were certainly the worse offenders but it is worthwhile remembering that this is an oasis amongst unnatural surroundings.
Still even if the damage has been relatively contained there is a lot of work to be done. there is the always present risk of fire from the many twigs and branches been cut and piled on the site from the trimming before the change of the fence (that I really hoped would have been higher, but...)
Daniel being Daniel could not resist trying to remedy some of the plants being eradicated in the strip fronting the playground.
In the original project the side fence should have come up to the road but eventually, and not that surprisingly, the actual work had to copy the original positions. So that after having cut down the original bushes they try to embellish the place with (wholly unsuitable) plants. Needless to say they have been mauled by the wild inhabitants of our area and their pets. In due time wild and hardy plants will take over once again but in the meantime Daniel tried his best to save and water the salvageable.
Bless him I could not dissuade him and could only help carrying the water buckets (from the other side of the estate!).
We attracted the attentions of some helpers and little Lioni could not be stay away.
