With the walkabout scheduled in few days I thought that it would have been worth while give the Wild Life Area some little clean up (it needed in any case because of a little dumping).I was here yesterday too and taken away some of the rubbish.Could not however call in help. No a real problem because the weather was all right and there was not really hell of a lot to clean up.Pleasingly the site adjoining the kickabout field, now a year after the work done on it and the change is recovering quite nicely. No so much with all the sapling planted during the BBC Autumn Watch works. They have all nearly died in spite of the care we took of them, I wasnot surprised but saddened by it none the less.
As it was there was a little disturbance with the signs I left around, a little "food" that someone leave for the birds but generally speaking the area was recovering nicely after a succession of works in and around it.
Time to go and collect what was possible including the unfortunate saplings and a fallen bird box to be re-utilised.
