This year has been quite an eventful year for the Wild Life Area. The recent work on the kick-about field on the west side, with all the cutting, last year BBC Breathing Place Program and the fire last summer.
All this ha made the place more accessible and wind swept. The result has been quite an accumulation of rubbish and some clean up is sorely needed.
With Julian and Marenka we tried to tidy the place at least a bit.
The site is scarred but recovering. The signs of the fire and our attempt to repair the damage is still quite visible.
Still life goes on! In spite of everything, the recent Disturbances , the fire and all the rest the WildLife Area is capable of producing the usual magic. This years has been particularly fruitful for the Cotoneaster (probably Cotoneaster frigidus) that is lavishing its bounty when most needed.
We collect a seizable amount of detritus and the usual collection of oddity and few credit cards (it has become a tradition but they are getting rarer).
Still in spite of all the trouble that this little oasis has gone through it is still offering some delights.
