Meet the Owner
2M’s is back! You may be wondering, who is the new owner?
Tyler Risinger and his family have a long history in Richmond-Rosenberg. His grandmother Mary Ann “Mimi” Gless was in the first graduating class of Lamar High School in 1955, and the daughter of Ed Dozier of Dozier’s BBQ in Fulshear. “She married my grandpa Charles Gless,” Tyler says, “a rice farmer whose dad owned the John Deere dealership in town on Avenue H.” They settled in Richmond to raise their 4 girls - Tyler’s mother and aunts.
Since he was 8, Tyler’s always loved cooking for family and friends. He started his restaurant career at 16. He went on to get his degree in restaurant management and catering and manage several local Jason’s Deli’s.
In 2007, Tyler married his college sweetheart, Stacy, who is now an elementary school teacher. During these hot days of summer, you’ll likely find their daughter Riley cheerfully greeting patrons at the 2M’s register. Their younger son Ethan helps out serving drinks and running orders when he’s not playing sports. In addition, Tyler’s mother Charlotte and Family love being part of the 2M’s team. When Tyler’s not at the restaurant, you usually find him serving as a youth leader at his church, as he has for the past 10 years.
“For me, food is about getting together and enjoying each other’s company, and I want to do that for as many people as I can by making good food as affordable as possible. Mr. McKinney and his family did a great job upholding the 2M’s legacy for so many years, I just want to honor what he started and pay it forward.” Tyler looks forward to serving our community for many years to come
