The countdown to the end has started in my mind. It's May and there's just a few days to go. The easy thing to do would be to put your attitude on autopilot and just coast to the end. But you know me, and if you can recall those times several years ago when I served as interim principal, you may remember my insistence that we learn to "Finish STRONG!" Don't just endeavor to get your work done; try to do it to the BEST of your ability. If you still owe me work, please get it to me as soon as possible. AR Points are due by NOON on Thursday, May 28.

Science 5/6 – Chapter 3 Test Complete the Chapter 3 Science test after you feel that your preparation is complete. All essay questions must be answered in complete sentences. Remember, you receive zero points for any questions that you fail to attempt to answer. In reality, this test can be taken at any time that you want, but it must be turned in on Sunday, May 25.

Social Studies 5/6 –Continue using the terms and biographical identifications in order to prepare for your test TODAY. Be sure you use the questions at the bottom of the Chapter 7 study guide to continue your preparation. Ask a family member to help you to study these questions. I have indicated on the cover sheet for this week’s tests which items on this study guide you need to focus on for the essay questions. When you are ready, complete the Chapter 7 test.

Make sure you answer the essay questions in COMPLETE sentences. I encourage you to at least attempt to answer the essay questions. When you leave them blank, it has an adverse effect on your grade. Remember, they are worth more points than the multiple-choice or matching questions. This test must be turned on Sunday, May 25.

Vocabulary – After you review using Quizlet or your flashcards, complete the Final Cumulative Test. That includes the optional items on the back of the final page. Please make sure you have not skipped any items.

Literature – Complete the 2 worksheets for the short story ‘The Bracelet.” Follow the directions as given at the top of the worksheet on cause and effect. On the worksheet entitled “Use Reading Strategies: Make Connections,” read each of the five choices, and then write an answer to any 2 that you select. Please write these answers in the blue journals that you wrote journal entries in earlier in the quarter. Your 2 answers together should be approximately ½ of a page.

Math – Investigation 12: Volume/ Surface Area of Prisms, Cylinders, and Cones We will do this lesson together over Zoom.

English – Using the rhyming wheel that you assembled on Tuesday to help you, write 4 quatrains. Each one should follow a different pattern: AABB, ABAB, ABBA, and ABCB. Then find a picture you like. It can be from any source that you choose – the Internet, a magazine, a photograph – and write 2 or 3 quatrains about it. Attach the picture to your work.

Spelling – You will take your Unit 34 Spelling Test over Zoom this morning.

Vocabulary – Review Unit 13-15 Complete pages 199-200.
