Auto xs battery and alternator tester instructions
If you want to check the condition of your car battery and alternator, you can use a device called Auto xs battery and alternator tester. This device can measure the voltage of your battery and the output of your alternator, and display the results on a LED indicator. Here are the instructions on how to use it:
Make sure your car engine is off and the ignition key is removed.
Connect the black crocodile clip of the device to the negative terminal of your battery.
Connect the red prong of the device to the positive terminal of your battery. The device will show the voltage of your battery on the display. If the voltage is between 12.4V and 12.6V, your battery is in good condition. If the voltage is below 12.4V, your battery is low or discharged. If the voltage is above 12.6V, your battery is overcharged or faulty.
To check your alternator, start your car engine and let it run at idle speed.
Touch the red prong of the device on and off the positive terminal of your battery several times. The device will show the output of your alternator on the display. If the output is between 13.5V and 14.5V, your alternator is working properly. If the output is below 13.5V, your alternator is undercharging or faulty. If the output is above 14.5V, your alternator is overcharging or faulty.
Disconnect the device from your battery and store it in a safe place.
