Dr. Ana Ndumu
Dr. Ana Ndumu is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland College Park’s College of Information Studies. She primarily researches and teaches on library services to immigrants—particularly, Black diasporic immigrants—along with methods for promoting racial realism and representation in LIS. Dr. Ndumu's experience as an HBCU (historically Black college/university) librarian on a distinctly majority-immigrant campus inspired her interest in the cross between Black identity, libraries, and social inclusion. A proud AfroLatina, Dr. Ndumu works actively with REFORMA, the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA), ALA's Serving Refugees, Immigrants, and Displaced Persons (SRIDP), and various other LIS organizations.
