I had recently purchased a Pre-modded Xbox 360 Corona 4gb with Dash ver. 17559 on it. I noticed all the Avatars were greyed out. So I found a tutorial that had me place an update ($SystemUpdate) on a flash drive. The tutorial then had me reset my Xbox. What was supposed too happen next is a prompt will appear to update the console however nothing was there. So I then went down the rabbit hole of re-flashing the NAND with the 17559 update (XeBuild), The hole time getting errors because the 48mb NAND dump (followed a Guide which worked for me). After doing all that I still had grey avatars. So next I disabled noupdater and cleared my default dash path in DashLaunch, then repeated the USB update procedure. After all that I finally got Avatars working.
