Independent Study
Week 1
Week 1
Module Process
The reason why we save and keep the default T-Pose/M-Pose, is because the final concept cannot be used within the game. Using the T-Pose, it can then be engineered to work within the game (not going to be done within this specific module, but is important to note this since it is critical within the development pipeline).
Training
Watch the first 2 chapters in the Sculpting a creature with ZBrush and Photoshop in linkedIn Learning for next week, it will definitely help!
Need to remember that this is a sculpting module, so try not to get too distracted by the design of the creature - as it is not a character design module.
Update everything on the blogs
FOR WEEK 2: have on this blog a post of the designs and reasons (along with chosen references and reasoning) for the character
For an ease of structure - use the Week 1 Independent Study Checklist on the module blog - try to follow the checklist time length
Character concepts in bullet point format, along with reasons (very brief), think of backstories for this creature along with references of design
3 ideas to narrow down from would be useful for the groups to have their opinions and discussions (again, it is a creature/character. So it can be a normal human character, or something entirely different like a monstrous creature).
Try to keep things simple, don't go overboard for the first attempt, add extreme detail to a small amount of work as opposed to a little amount of detail to a lot of different aspects to the model (limit of design is limited to the imagination, but be realistic - due to time scale (don't do a ten-thousand headed dragon since it's not going to be done within the time scale)).
Use the rest of the lecture working on learning the interface of the software rather than designing the character,
