The AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Technical Diploma is an initiative by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) aimed at promoting and supporting female students pursuing technical education in India. The scholarship is designed to assist female students enrolled in diploma courses at AICTE-approved institutions. Eligible candidates must be less than 30 years old and have secured admission to the first year of a technical diploma course, with a minimum of 50% marks in their previous qualifying examination. Additionally, the annual family income of the applicant must not exceed ₹8 lakh. The scholarship offers financial assistance of ₹50,000 per year for a maximum of two years, which can be used for tuition fees, hostel fees, or other academic expenses. Each year, 4,000 scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The application process is conducted online through the official AICTE portal, where applicants are required to submit documents such as proof of admission, academic qualifications, family income certificate, and bank account details. The scholarship is disbursed directly to the student's bank account linked with Aadhaar for transparency. To maintain the scholarship, students must adhere to the academic standards set by their institutions. This initiative aims to empower female students, bridge the gender gap in technical fields, and encourage women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
