El Árbol Generoso

Free store and mutual aid network in Chicago's Northwest side

El Árbol is a free store and mutual aid collective operating in Chicago's Logan Square and surrounding neighborhoods. Our group was founded to support recently arrived migrants living at the local police station. As of December 2023, the station is no longer hosting new arrivals and we are currently in the process of re-organizing our space to better serve our new neighbors and creating official open hours for the community. We aim to provide a safe space that will allow people to "shop" the (free) store with dignity.
