Having arrived at Miss Clarkson's Employment Agency Psmith is pleasantly suprised to see the girl whom he had provided an umbrella with earlier on, mistaking her at first for Ada Clarkson. The misunderstanding cleared up Psmith, graciously allowing Eve Halliday to keep the item to shield her from the still pouring rain, enters Miss Clarkson's office and announces that he is looking for a job - any job als long as it has nothing to do with fish, explaining that he has just left his uncle's fish business because he could not stand the fishy environment any more. A little confused, Miss Clarkson says that she will do her best to find him a suitable position, whereupon Psmith thanks her and leaves the office.
