In computers, a printer driver or a print processor is a piece of software on a computer that converts the data to be printed to a format that a printer can understand. Make sure your printer is on and connected to your PC. This section describes how to install printer driver.

On the Drivers tab, see if your printer listed. If it is, you’re all set. If you don’t see your printer listed, select Add, and in the Welcome to the Add Printer Driver Wizard, select Next.

How do you install an installed printer?

Simply plug the USB cable from your printer. On your pc select the Start button, then Add a printer or scanner then choose the one you want to use.

Step by step instruction for installing a printer driver:

  1. Turn on your printer and pc.

  2. Click on the Start button, select Devices and then, select Printers.

  3. Select Add Printer.

  4. From the Add Printer dialog box, click Add a Local Printer and select Next.

  5. Choose a Printer Port.

  6. You can select from a drop down of existing ports.

  7. Use the recommended port setting that your computer selects for you. Click Next.

  8. Add your driver. From here, you can either add the disc that came with your printer.

  9. select the driver that you downloaded from the manufacturer’s website.

  10. Name your printer.

  11. Click Finish.

  12. Run a test print.
