Along with exercise rest is also important. Rest days allow time for the body to repair the damage that occurs to muscles during exercise. Exercise puts stress on the body and the muscles. The rest days can be low-activity days like small walks and yoga.
There are many benefits of exercise such as good sleep at night which is very important for mental health. Exercise decreases the chances of having a chronic disease such as diabetes, dementia, or having a stroke or cancer.
Studies suggest exercising for 150 minutes daily is sufficient for the body to function properly.
