How to Setup HP Laserjet Pro for the First Time?

1. Remove Printer from the Box:

For this, first you should remove the printer from the box. After this, you should remove all tape and packing materials which is on the outside of the printer. Then, you have to remove the film from the printer control panel. At last, you should Recycle the packing materials.

2. Load Plain Paper in the Input Tray:

First, you should lower the main input tray door and then slide out the paper width. After this, you should load up to 250 sheets of paper with the print side on top. In case, you are loading the pre-punched paper, then you should load the paper with holes to the left side of the tray. Then, you should slide the paper guides till they touch the edge of the stack of paper. Here, you should press down on the output bin extension in order to open it and then just lower the output bin extender. If the users have loaded A4 size paper, then you should close the input tray door. In case, you loaded larger paper, then do not close the input tray door.

3. Connect Power Cord and Turn on Printer:

You should connect the power cord to the rear of the printer and just plug the other end of the power cord in the electrical outlet. Now, you have to Turn on the printer. At last, you have to wait till the printer is idle and silent before you move further.

4. Set your Preferences:

If you want to set the preferences for your printer, then you have to select the instructions for your printer. You can choose from Touch panel instructions and 2-line LCD control panel instructions.

5. Install Printer Software:

The user should download the latest version of the printing software from 123.hp.com/laserjet and after this, you should follow the instructions given on the screen to install the software.
