The mock exam is held under strict exam like conditions to make it a very realistic experience for your child.. This is going to help them get mentally and academically prepared for when they take the real thing.

Marks are often lost and the 11 Plus exam just on two things: 1. Nerves making your child lose focus and forget things they actually know. 2. Not revising certain areas well enough or thoroughly because they thought they knew how to do it or maybe they just didn't realise it was a topic that might come up. Whatever issues these mock tests highlight together we can help make sure it does not happen on the big day.

These mock exams gives them an opportunity to iron out these issues. Firstly you can tell which areas they are weaker on after the exam has been marked. Secondly the whole experience of taking mock exams helps remove most of those dreaded pre exam jitters that almost every child experiences from something so important that they have never not done before.

Feedback:

A few days later after all the test papers have been marked you will receive via email a comprehensive report on their mock exam scores and this will include:raw scores and percentages. Also you will get a copy of your child’s marked exam papers back - you can either have them posted (£3 p&p charge applies) or you can collect them from us for free. The marked test papers will help you see which topics they did well on and which parts they need to improve on.

Additional Methods to Help Them Pass:

In addition to letting your child revise at home we can also give you the option of having a review session with your child right after their mock exams, so that we can cover all the areas they need to revise more on. We will also offer during the review session some appropriate advice and tips on successfully getting through the exams.

We also have intensive revision session courses to help boost their chances of passing the 11 Plus Exams. These sessions usually last for approximately three hours a day, for three consecutive days and are held in small groups. Alternatively extra private one to one tutoring may be offered and your child can also tale more mock tests- we have 6 exams currently available to book and all unique in their own individual right, so no past papers at all are taken.

The test papers that your child will take has been especially created so that they are closely styled on real actual past CSSE test papers. The difference now being that your child will take a brand new exam which means your child won’t end up with a past exam paper they could have already taken at home or at school.

The 11+ mock exams run from the first week in January until the first week of September and each one is different, so your child can take as many as they need to get well prepared for the real thing.

The CSSE style 11 Plus mock exams I offer are used to help gain entry to the following Southend, Chelmsford and Colchester schools:

Westcliff High Schools, Southend High Schools, Shoeburyness High School (Grammar Stream), St Bernard’s & St Thomas More High School (Grammar Streams), King Edward VI Grammar School, Colchester County High School for Girls and Colchester Royal Grammar School.

Length of Mock Exams:

English Paper (70 mins)

Break for refreshments and a snack (20mins)

Maths Paper (60 mins)

What happens next?

When your payment has cleared you will receive an email with a registration form attached for you to fill in. Contact details, collection details and any allergies your child may have when we give them snacks and refreshments during the break. Please return this form as soon as possible.

Parking:

There is lots of on street parking in the area and depending on the location of a particular exam there may also be off street parking too. You are free to wait for your child in the designated waiting area or you can visit one of the numerous local cafes and shops nearby.

Start times:

The 11 Plus mock exams in Southend generally start at 10 am prompt with registration 15 minutes before that. Please make sure you allow plenty of travel time to get your child to the exams as any late arrivals won't be allowed any extra time. There are clocks provided in the rooms to let the children know what the time is. There are also white boards displaying the start and finish time for each exam.
