Problem

This is the aim of the investigation.

It must be stated clearly.

Remember, this type of investigation is about comparing a numerical variable of two groups in a population.

The question needs to:

• state the two groups being compared.
  eg: males and females, lions and tigers

• state the variable (numerical) being compared.
  eg: height, weight, area

• use a word that gives a direction.
  egs:  more, less, greater,  taller,  heavier, etc

• include the word  "tends"

• state the  POPULATION  the two groups belong to.
  egs:  all students in NZ,  all the lions and tigers  in the US, etc
  
  

• Give a reason why the results of your investigation would be useful.

• Who would find your investigation useful?

• What do you think you are likely to find?
  Why do you think that?
