click here and then click "download for windows 10"
step 2:
open the file you just downloaded, it will open a installer (see example 1). Just click next a few times (example 2) until the "install" button pops up (see example 3).
step 3:
once its done, you can delete the file you downloaded and go to the windows search bar and type "curse". The app should come up and if you click "enter" on your keyboard, it should open up.
step 4:
click "create custom profile" in top right corner (example 4).
a few things will pop up (example 5), here is what they mean:
profile name: what you want it to be called
minecraft version: the version of minecraft (modded) you want it to be (see here for details)
modloader: LEAVE THIS ALONE!!
create: create the profile (requires a name and a minecraft version)
cancel: cancels, duh!

download for buildcraft: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/buildcraft/download/2502739
INFO: that file ^ is for Minecraft 1.7.10 and forge for 1.7.10, NOT for Minecraft 1.12 and forge for 1.12.
so, buildcraft well its one of those mods that looks quite complicated but when you get to know it section by section it gets easier.
so, the robot section. so first i should explain that the "buildcraft" mod is actually all the sections of buildcraft together, so you can pick and choose or get buildcraft (the link above is buildcraft all) which is all the sections together. but if you wanted you could just ignore the sections you don't need. so on with the tutorial. oh and the sections are: buildcraft core (needed for buildcraft to work, not optional). buildcraft pipes(technically called buildcraft transport). buildcraft robotics. buildcraft factory. buildcraft builders. buildcraft gates(needed for robots in my opinion). buildcraft facades (see buildcraft gates). buildcraft silicon (not sure what this one does).
so, pipes: there are about 37 different pipes, about half of which are just copies for different types of stuff (fluids, items, energy). Item pipes include a few more then the others. here is a list of all the pipes and what they do:
when powered by an engine (see: engines) or by a pulsar gate (see: pulsar gates) will extract (suck) items, fluids, energy from a chest, tank, or engine. needed a lot with item systems and robots. photo:
on its own
when connected to a chest, tank or engine
when used in its item form it will take any items coming through it and separate the items evenly to the other sides of the pipe that pipes are connected to (besides the side the items came from) but when used in its energy or fluid form it acts like a faster wooden pipe. it only needs a engine (see: engines) or a pulsar gate (see: pulsar gates) to extract items in its fluid or energy form, when used with items it doesn't need anything.
on its own
connected to a chest
these basically just are the taking places pipes, they work the same way when used with fluids, energy, and items. you connect point A (which might be a wooden pipe connected to a chest) to point B (maybe another chest) with these pipes. they are all pretty much the same but some are faster than others for example: cobblestone, the slowest. stone, maybe a little faster than cobblestone. quartz, a little faster then stone. golden, the fastest pipe there is.
now you may be wondering "what do the diamond and sandstone pipe do? are they fast or slow or what?" well here you go:
basically the only pipes in the picture above that will and can connect to each other are gold and everything else. the others you have to put a sandstone pipe in-between. so if you want to connect say stone and cobblestone pipes well.........
you need to have this: because this doesn't work:
oh, and also all of the pipes above (all the basic transport pipes and sandstone) are the same with fluids and energy (except what they look like obviously)
basically sorts stuff (items, fluids). will take any stuff coming in and sort them however you want (except when used with energy, then it is just the fastest energy transport pipe). photos:
any items put on a colored slot in its inventory (open it sort of like a chest to get its inventory) will be then sorted out of that colored side when that item comes into the pipe
when powered by engine (see: engines) or by a pulsar gate (see: pulsar gates) will literally suck any items on the ground within a few block radius into it and through any transport pipe connected. note: it has to be connected to at least one transport pipe to work. note #2: when it is connected on the ground to a pipe like the example #1 below it will only suck items from the general area on the opposite side of the pipe from the transport pipe connected, so i recommend you use it hanging over head like example #2
example 1
example 2
so, these pipes for one need to be used together. so how they work is any items coming through the xxxx pipe will be "colored" the color you "dyed" the xxxx pipe, then with a wrench you can select a side on the xxxx pipe and then "dye" it the same color of the xxxx pipe. then any items going through the pipe that are the same color you "dyed" it will then be sent out the side you clicked with the wrench. any other-colored items or no-colored items will just go straight if possible.
the description says it all. it destroys any items or fluids that go into it
i have no idea what this does, maybe in a while i will learn.
un-needed as far as i can tell. just connect a item transport pipe to a chest, no need for a fancy clay pipe
now first of all, this is NOT the same as a stripes robot. they are VERY different! so anyway the pipe will basically place any block that goes into it via a item transport pipe on the opposite side of the transport pipe. if a hoe goes into it it will hoe the ground in front of it. if the ground is hoed it will plant seeds. if something comes into it it doesn't know what to do with (like a sword) it will just launch it out of its self.
now, when using robots and gates it requires a bit of logic (that's what the gates are for) so gates: (for now just the ones you will need for robots)
you will need:
a lot of emerald gates
a few chests
some wooden pipes
some item transport pipes (i like gold because its fast)
a gate copier
a wrench
a zone planner
quite a few robot docking stations
quite a few empty map location
some robots! The types we will be using today are, the mining robot, the lumberjack robot, the shovelman robot ,the leaf cutter robot, the picker robot.
so, first of all. all of the robots we are using today need a "take" chest. how to set up a "take" chest for all your robots: place a chest (it can be double if u want) then on top of the chest place a wooden pipe. then on that wooden pipe you need to place a emerald gate (see told you) and on a different side of that wooden pipe place a robot docking station. then open the emerald gate and on the first line in the left square click it until it says "items in inventory" the on the top line right square click it till it says "provide items" not "accept items". that's a robot "take" chest complete. now here is a video of how to do this and more with robots and gates:
detail robot usage:
the miner: will take a pickaxe from take chest, will only mine ores (not stone) it can get to within its area.
the shovel man: will take a shovel from the take chest, will mine any dirt in its work area. warning: will leave behind a TON of items I recommend 3 picker robots per shovel man.
the picker: wont take anything from the take chest. needs a chest in its work zone it can offload items into (when using shovel man have a few chests, they can fill up fast with dirt).
the lumberjack: will take an axe from the take chest. will only cut down logs in its work area. I recommend you use with leaf cutters.
leaf cutter: will take shears from a take chest and cut any leaf's in its work area. warning: will leave behind a lot of items and will break the shears you gave it fast. so have lots of spare shears and a lot of pickers!
