The Cure Blue Sunshine Deluxe Edition The Glove 2006
The Glove was a side project of Robert Smith, the lead singer and guitarist of The Cure, and Steven Severin, the bassist of Siouxsie and the Banshees. They released only one album, Blue Sunshine, in 1983, which featured psychedelic and experimental music influenced by the 1960s cult film Blue Sunshine. The album was a critical and commercial success, reaching number 35 on the UK Albums Chart and spawning two singles, "Like an Animal" and "Punish Me with Kisses".
In 2006, Polydor and Rhino Records released a deluxe edition of Blue Sunshine, which included a remastered version of the original album, five bonus tracks, and a second disc of 16 rarities from the same period. The deluxe edition was compiled by Smith and Severin themselves, who also wrote new liner notes and provided rare and previously unseen photographs for the booklet. The deluxe edition was praised by fans and critics alike, who appreciated the improved sound quality and the opportunity to hear more of the creative process behind the album.
