Digital Control Kannan M. Moudga

Digital control is a branch of control engineering that deals with the design and implementation of controllers using digital systems, such as microprocessors, digital signal processors, and computers. Digital control has many advantages over analog control, such as higher accuracy, flexibility, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Digital control also enables the use of advanced control techniques, such as optimal, adaptive, and robust control, that are difficult or impossible to implement using analog devices.

One of the leading experts in the field of digital control is Professor Kannan M. Moudgalya, who is an associate dean at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. Professor Moudgalya has written a comprehensive textbook on digital control, titled Digital Control, which was published by John Wiley & Sons in 2007. The book covers the fundamentals of digital control, as well as various topics such as digital signal processing, plant identification, PID control, pole placement, internal model, minimum variance, model predictive, and linear quadratic Gaussian control. The book also provides numerous examples, problems, solutions, and MATLAB code to illustrate the concepts and applications of digital control.
