Resurrection Parish is committed to the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all children and vulnerable adults

Current restrictions from both the Government and the Archdiocese limit funerals to NO MORE than 10 mourners.

The death of a family member or loved one can be a very stressful time. Making funeral arrangements can be a very emotional time for family members.

It is important to note that any funerals to be conducted at Resurrection Parish will be arranged by the Funeral Company, not by relatives or family members.

Once you have made arrangements with them regarding your preference for the day, time and type of funeral celebration required the funeral directors will contact the Parish to negotiate the availability of the Church and priest for that time.

Once that has been finalised one of the Parish team will be in contact with the family to arrange a suitable time to meet and plan both the vigil ceremony (Rosary) and the funeral ceremony.

The parish has resources available for families to use which include an outline of a typical funeral, a selection of appropriate readings to use, sample prayers of the faithful, suggested hymns appropriate for a funeral and a sample of a funeral booklet (if required). The multimedia facilities in the church can also be used to show a short reflection (up to 4 minutes) of the deceased person's life story in pictures.

The team will provide support all the way through the process to assist the family in the preparation and on the day of the funeral.
