ART 1

Art 1 is an introductory course geared toward students who have an interest in the Visual Arts. The class will provide students with a strong foundation in the fundamental theories, design principles, techniques and history of art. Students will work both two and three dimensionally in drawing, painting, mixed media, printmaking and sculpture to develop a working knowledge that is essential in developing critical thinking and problem solving skills. A study of major artists and art movements, as well as art criticism and evaluation, will be integrated in this course.
