As the name itself indicates, VESIT HACKs is a Hackathon, but to make the best of the opportunity, we have planned it to be more than a pure Software Development Competition.
Before we proceed, let us discuss the need for the change, that we are trying to incorporate
However, we also observed weaknesses of a lot of students, as they could not work well in a team, as they never had an opportunity for the same.
On the days wherein they should have been discussing and implementing solutions of the given problems, a set of our teams were struggling with issues like
how to collaborate on a project
in the absence of a supervisor/guide, how to cope up with differences
how to use tools like GitHub etc.
The primary agenda of VESIT HACKs is to assist all the VESITians with an opportunity of getting an excellent practice / rehearsal of working and collaboration standards for the bigger events like Smart India Hackathon, Google Summer of Code etc.
This will be a 30 hours long event, spanning in three days viz.
Day 1 : 2nd April, 2021.
Day 2 : 3rd April, 2021.
Day 3 : 4th April, 2021.
Event starts on Day 1 at 8 AM.
Team
The team should comprise of 3 (min) to 4 (max) students of VESIT.
The students need NOT be from same class / branch / course.
Registration FEE
You need not pay any fee for this event.
Prize
A lot of Knowledge and Experience of Working as a Team !
Rules
Outline of Assessment
Maximum points will be there for use of technology for Team Co-Ordination + good use of Versioning System. (Use of GitHub is mandatory. Commits will be monitored continuously.)
Solution should have good User Interface and User Experience.
Presentation of Idea in front of a panel.
