Welcome to the Forum App Open Beta test!
The Forum Mobile app makes it easy for you to access over 1,200 enthusiast communities, where you can discuss highly in-depth topics about products you love, read reviews, ask questions and learn from highly-engaged subject-matter experts.
While we still have many features yet to build, we believe the app has reached a milestone where the core forum browsing experience is taking shape. We sincerely appreciate your help testing our app and giving us feedback.
Download and use the app just as you would for any normal app, and let us know your thoughts on the overall experience through in app survey or feedback button.
Please expect bugs and incomplete features. We are a small team and we have been working on the app for a while, but we want to start hearing feedback from users as soon as we can.
If you find any bugs or issues, or have any preference about what you want to see next, please use the feedback submission feature inside the app.
While we are excited about more users getting their hands on the app, we expect to hear a lot of feedback from you given how early in development the app still is.
You can submit feedback directly to use via the Feedback button you can find in
Ellipse menu on most screens
Feedback button in right-drawer menu

TestFlight is the official app from Apple that allows you to participate testing of mobile applications.
We are not associated with TestFlight, it is simply a required channel from Apple to download and use any beta app before it's officially launched on the App Store.
As the app is still in early stages, we have finished the core browsing features. Currently in the app, you can test the following:
Signing up and logging in
Browsing through our communities on the Discover screen
Going into communities to browse sub-forums
Going into sub-forums to browse threads.
Reading through threads.
Following communities
Following sub-forums
Usage of the “My Communities” tab after you follow some communities and sub-forums.
Creating new threads (plain text only)
Replying to threads (plain text only)
Overall navigation experience between communities, sub-forums, and threads.
We are currently working on the next groups of features that we believe are crucial to the day-to-day forum browsing experience, including:
Following / Unfollowing any thread
Notification on threads I'm following
Thread / post editing
Attachment upload
Replying directly to a post
Reactions
We expect the plan to constantly iterate. Let us know what you would like to see next with the in-app feedback submission feature mentioned above.
You can! We actually encourage you to do that. Using the email of your current account will directly link your account on that site to the Forum app, which will grant you the same read and post permissions that your current account has.
Yes you still can! When first time creating a post in a community you don't have an identity (account) on, you will get a prompt to ask you to pick a username for that community.
Nope, it doesn't affect anything, you can still go back to use the web version of the site on your account, nothing will be affected on that side.
We are looking into introducing the feature to allow you freely link and unlink accounts in the future. The account linking only happens when the master account and the site account is the same email. The process of logging into the master account via the magic link automatically verifies the ownership of the email, just like 2 factor authentication.
Let us know you want this feature when submitting feedback! Our current theory is that the majority of the users won't be needing this feature. Plus, it will significantly complicate your browsing experience. But, it is possible that we will introduce account switching on the master account level.
The first time when you log in with the Magic Link, we will create a master account for you based on that email.
When you first browse any communities (sites), you will see what guests of that community can see.
When you try to do anything on that community that requires an account,
If there is an account with the same email address on the site, the system will link the account directly.
If there is no account with the same email address, the system will prompt you to create an "Identity" for that community, which equals to an account on that site.
When connecting your master account to that site account, it will grant you the same permission of browsing and posting that that site account has.
As of the initial open beta launch, you can only connect your account via creating a thread or posting a reply.
We are looking into introducing an automatic linking feature in the near future.
